Personal Account Payment Verification Document Guidelines

In order to verify your identity to issue payments to you, BetterHelp needs to collect one of the following identity verification documents. Please email this document to therapistpayments@betterhelp.com with the subject line "Payment Verification Document"

Acceptable documentation for US accounts: 

Passport (preferred), Passport Card, Driver's License, State Issued ID Card, Resident Permit ID / U.S. Green Card, Border Crossing Card, NYC Card, U.S. Visa Card.

Acceptable documentation for UK accounts: 

Passport (preferred), Driver license

Note: The information on the legal document must match the information typed on the "Set Payments" page. Please ensure your name and date of birth match -- no nicknames, maiden names, etc. 

Document standards for Proof of Identity:

• Documents must be uploaded in full color (i.e. no black-and-white images)
• Documents must be clear and large enough to read
• Photocopies or scans of identity documents are not acceptable, must be a high-resolution photo
• Documents must be valid and not expired
• Complete documents must be uploaded. A complete document is defined as:
  • Both front and back of a driver’s license or identity card
  • The entire personal information page of a passport
• Documents can be uploaded in .png or .jpg format
• The photo should be taken from directly above with all edges and corners clearly visible. We'd recommend using a dark background
